Are Authority Sites Better than Mini Sites?
When deciding whether to build minisites or authority sites, you really have to consider your own preferences. When it comes to these two kinds of sites, it’s best if you don’t make broad, general statements about them. You are free to think the way you want, naturally, and some people have their minds made up already. Being open-minded, however, can allow you to consider factors you might otherwise miss. It can be profitable to keep your mind open, as it allows you to consider more possibilities. To help you make up your mind, we’ll explore some of the pluses and minuses of authority sites vs. mini sites. If you want to use Internet marketing to its full effect make sure that you use it to promote new product launches such as Xtreme Traffic Arbitrage.
Sometimes people are only interested in a particular aspect of a given market or niche. This is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Sometimes you’re only interested in that very thin slice of the market known as a micro-niche. For this small market segment, authority sites simply do not perform as well as mini sites. Mini sites allow you to target a small number of keyword phrases and rank well in the search engines for them. Of course, this depends largely on the amount of competition focuses on these specific keywords. To be fair, you can also target the same micro-niche within an authority site. But if you have no interest to do so, then the mini site is the best choice.
As you know, maybe, Google changes their algorithm to reward things they like and penalize what they do not like. In 2010, they have made it more and more apparent that they do like authority sites, and they do not hide their disdain for “thinner” sites; much like the mini site. Just like with pay per click advertising, you will incur a lower quality score if your site is deemed, thin. You can still do something with SEO and mini sites, but you will have to work harder at it. Even your best efforts for mini sites will not be as fruitful when it comes to traffic or rank as they would have been not long ago. We can’t change how Google ranks sites, so we have to live with it. There are new product launches happening all the time such as Xtreme Traffic Arbitrage Review, and nearly all of them will benefit from Internet marketing.
One interesting perspective about authority sites is you can potentially get more bang for your efforts, even though these sites require more effort.
What we mean is if a visitor lands on your authority site, then all the content present represents more opportunities to you. Every page on your site, if it’s attractively designed, can be a portal to other pages and features. Every area on your site gives you the opportunity to turn visitors into customers. With a mini site, you are usually presenting one product only, whereas an authority site can much more multifaceted. Deciding whether to create an authority site or a mini site is one that may come down to how Google ranks different sites in those search results. Mini sites can be great tools for any marketer, but you may find you need to spend more time finding ways to attract traffic. Mini sites are excellent additions to any carefully created marketing plan. However, you could see far greater benefits in terms of organic traffic and rankings from a larger site.
